I’m here to help you!
Please feel free to contact if you have any questions regarding cloth diapers.
If you live in the area you have the option of getting a consultation to learn more about cloth. I can also give you a tutorial on all the different types of diapers that I carry and how they could benefit you. I can also offer help on caring for your cloth. All the merchandise I offer has been thoroughly researched and is mother-approved.

My name is Andrea Calvert. I currently live in Wellington, Ontario with my husband, Aaron, and our beautiful daughter, Madeline. I graduated from Trent University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I studied, among others, ecology and environmental biology. My education helps me understand the impact that disposable diapers have on landfills and their surrounding ecosystems.
I have been using cloth diapers with my daughter and have tried many different types. I love how cute cloth is on my daughter but I also love the fact that she isn’t coming in contact with harmful chemicals.
Cloth diapers are so simple to use that even the most stubborn disposable users can be convinced to try them out. Not only do I love how soft they are, they are not rough like disposable diapers.
I decided to open ComfyBums because in the area that I’m from there are few available resources for cloth diapers. As well, I wanted to help people make the switch or choose cloth by offering knowledgeable information about the world of cloth. I love using cloth and since I switched I haven’t looked back!

Cloth diapers are MUCH more environmentally friendly.
What about the energy used to clean the diapers, you ask? This is small compared to the waste generated by disposable diapers. One child will go through approximately 6,000-10,000 disposable diapers. This is from birth until potty training. Not only that, there are millions of diapers disposed of in Canada in just one day.
I bet you think that cloth diapers are gross because you have to clean a dirty diaper in the toilet. Did you know that it states right on disposable diaper packages that you should be rinsing any wastes into the toilet? It's a fact that many people did not even realize. So, when you think about it disposable diapers are not only going into the landfills, any of the human waste that's in them is leaching into the water system. That's raw sewage that's going into water systems near you. This means that animals, plants and humans are affected (you swim right?).
On top of all that, Environment Canada has released a statement saying that cloth diapers "are a superior choice to disposable diapers". All this environmental information certainly helps make the decision to switch to cloth easier!

A household can easily spend ~$2000 on disposable diapers, for ONE child. Although, cloth diapers have a high start-up cost you SAVE MONEY in the end.
You can cloth diaper a child for a little as $400 and you can use these diapers again for another child!

There are so many chemicals in disposable diapers. Many of these are extremely hazardous to your baby.
By switching to cloth diapers you avoid any exposure to hazardous chemicals. As an added bonus, diaper rashes are greatly decreased!!

These aren't your grandmother's diapers. they aren't even your mother's diapers! Gone are the days of tricky folds, one-handed catastrophes and sharp pins.
New designs make for easier & faster changes and they are much more reliable, with fewer leaks and less "blow-outs".

Cloth diapers are able to make potty training easier because children are actually able to feel the wetness. Whereas with disposables it gets locked away and they are unaware that anything has happened. This means you may actually decrease the amount of time that your little one is wearing diapers.
